The unique branded space will be located in the Westfield shopping and entertainment center.
The Pokemon Company of Japan, which specializes in the production, marketing and licensing of the famous franchise, has announced plans to open the first center for Pokemon fans in Europe. A branded space unique to the market under the Pokemon Center brand will be located in London's Westfield shopping and entertainment center in Shepherd's Bush.
New Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield games for Nintendo Switch consolesare expected to be released by Christmas 2020. Like all previous games, they will fully reflect the parallel world of one of the real-life countries. This time it's Britain's turn. That is why the creators of the game chose the capital of the United Kingdom to launch the new Pokemon Center.
According to the plans of the creators of the project, the store will work in the pop-up store format for four weeks - from October 18 to November 15, 2019, that is, long before the official release of new games. At the same time, it is not ruled out that in the case of a particularly popular store, the time of its placement in the Westfield shopping center will be extended. The retail space will feature traditional Pokémon merchandise, as well as a limited line of special London-inspired merchandise and a range of exclusive designs not found elsewhere.
The first specialized Pokemon centers appeared in Japan: to date, 12 centers have been opened in the homeland of Pokemon, four more are located in the United States and one in Singapore. The London Pokemon Center will be the first in the Old World, and to date there is no information about the company's plans to further open new centers in Europe.
