Mass layoffs and a major restructuring carried out in March 2011, only reduced costs, but did not resolve the situation. Debt USPS today is about 20 billion dollars.
The cause of the problems is called the crisis of 2008, as well as the rapid development of the Internet. Over the past few years, the number of delivered letters has decreased by a quarter and continues to decline, so the losses are just beginning.
The US Senate believes that the delivery of alcohol will at least partially rectify the situation. Moreover, such an income item is a normal practice for such delivery services as UPS и FedEx. The only issue that still remains to be resolved is to ensure that deliveries are not made to minors.
