The novelty went on sale on the birthday of the popular rapper, who turned 44 on June 8.
For almost a year, since June 2020, when it was first announced, fashion fans have been discussing the brand's collaboration Gap and the Yeezy brand, owned by one of the most popular musicians of our time, Kanye West. And finally, on the rapper's birthday, June 8, the first result of the joint work was presented to the public.
It turned out to be a deep blue down jacket, the cost of which is $200. The product was noticed by attentive fans of the musician a few days earlier in the photo of West. On them, he was captured in an unusual balaclava, decorated with drawings with religious motifs.
And the official moment of the introduction of the down jacket, called the Round Jacket, was a post on the Gap Instagram page, which featured a video of the jacket flying against a white background. Flying blue jackets, but in the form of projections, will accompany the launch of a new product, they can be seen in several locations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Short oversized down jacket made from recycled nylon with chunky sleeves and no closure. On the inside of the down jacket, the YZY logo, chosen for the Yeezy and Gap collaboration, is applied.
The new jacket is now available to order on the Gap website, and purchases will ship starting this fall. At the same time, when placing a pre-order, buyers must leave not only their contact details, but also their clothing size, as well as the size of the headgear. Thus, the creators of the collection are hinting at the imminent appearance of other things created as part of the collaboration.
Gap previously announced that it has entered into a ten-year collaboration with Kanye West, which will result in a range of clothing for men, women and children. The partnership with Gap has allowed the rapper to increase his already considerable fortune, the collaboration with the fashion brand, which has only one finished product so far, is estimated at about $970 million, according to Bloomberg data.
