Company Google officially announced that it was going to stop using brands in the near future picasa и Blogger. At the same time, the services themselves will remain and will function as before, the changes will affect only the names and logos.
It is already known that picasa will be called Google Photos, while Blogger will be named Google Blogs. Thus, the company gradually reduces everything to its name, which looks more than logical. The calculation is made to increase awareness and improve the "spiritual" relationship between services. And recently, by the way, a social network, also named in this vein, began to work - Google+.
However, some of the old names will still remain. So, no one even plans to change the name YouTube - this video hosting service is too popular for such re-tubing.
The name change is expected to take place within the next month and a half.
