Revealed by the famous brand, the visualizations offer a strange glimpse into the future of fitness.
If you enjoy running or cycling, you've probably been looking for a mask that allows you to exercise comfortably and safely in the midst of a pandemic. But this is not an easy task, as most fitness masks currently on the market are not designed to filter particles, but to simulate low oxygen levels to help train for running at high altitudes and improve cardiorespiratory fitness.
Meanwhile, some experts believe that rising levels of air pollution, combined with the risk of more and more dangerous viruses, could make masks part of any training in the future. In many parts of the world, especially in Asia, people regularly wear masks, including for sports on the street. And there is nothing surprising in the fact that designers Reebok presented their vision of how this process might look like.
Three prototypes were presented, which so far exist only in sketches. At the same time, the developers pursued the goal of not only ensuring the safety of the user, but also giving him some additional features that are unattainable in the case of conventional masks.

For example, the SENSORIAL model has a transparent screen around the mouth. This mask is designed not only to filter the air, but also to allow the wearer to better communicate with others who can also see your emotions hidden by a regular mask.

The IMMERSION model is the strangest one. It includes both a respirator and a face shield to provide maximum protection. Plus, the mask is also equipped with a whole set of sensors that allow you to collect various data, then transferring them to a special application on your smartphone. The developers are also thinking about the fact that special devices allow you to adjust the conditions under the mask.

As for the SYMBIOSIS model, the developers call it the most ambitious due to the presence of a natural cleaning system. The mask includes a respirator filled with organic matter, such as algae or moss, that purifies the air by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and releasing oxygen. It is believed that the implementation of such a project is quite possible.
Of course, we are still talking about nothing more than curious sketches. However, they do a good job of showing what the company thinks about the future of fitness, in which masks may very well become commonplace.
