The history of the brand began in 1844, when a resident of Germany, Robert Weintraud, together with two partners, founded the company Weintraud & Co., which was engaged in the production of rivets, buckles and other accessories for leather clothing. Brand Rowenta was born later - in 1909, when it was decided to expand the range of products. Under it, stationery and smoking accessories began to be produced. However, already in 1913, the production of electric heating appliances was launched. Rowenta. By 1915, the production of toasters and other electrical equipment intended for cooking was launched. By 1920 electric coffee makers and kettles Rowenta are becoming very popular in German cuisines.

During World War II factories Rowenta were almost completely destroyed. However, by 1948 they were completely restored by setting up the production of lighters on them. Gradually, we managed to get back on our feet, significantly expand the range of products. And in 1967, the first defensive unit appears Rowenta – Rowenta Austria, in Austria. Later, units appear in other European countries.
Since 1988 Rowenta belongs to the French Groupe SEB, a manufacturer of household appliances (also owns brands such as Krups, Tefal и Moulinex).
