A cute character that Samsung abandoned, unexpectedly for the company itself, won the hearts of users.
The South Korean company Samsung unwittingly appeared in social media feeds and on news sites. It's not about a new product or acquisition, but about a virtual 3D character that hasn't even been used by the brand for its intended purpose.
Meet Samantha or just Sam. This attractive girl with graceful manners and a simple but sophisticated style, although not quite real, has already managed to truly penetrate the imagination of social media users. Where did Samantha come from, if she herself Samsung never used a potential virtual assistant in a marketing campaign?
The description and images of the character were most likely found by Twitter user @louxtenyaiida on one of the archive pages of Lightfarm, a design company that worked with Samsung-affiliated marketing organization Cheil. To date, the page with the description of the project has already been deleted, however, a detailed description of the character and the mention of people who actually work in Lightfarm allow us to conclude that it is real. Thus, 3D Samantha is one of the projects that were created, brought to the final result, but were never used by the company for one reason or another.
Well, such is the fate of many projects, but something unusual happened to Samantha. After a post on Twitter, which presented several images of a cute and bright girl from smartphones in her hands, social networks literally exploded. Like Twiiter, popular sites such as TikTok and Reddit were filled with posts with declarations of love for a virtual beauty, as well as with all kinds of art with her participation, some of which, as usual on the Internet, are best not viewed at work.
Samantha has already become a meme and a favorite of millions, which is called shooting in one night. And only well-drawn details and graceful poses of a failed symbol cannot explain such a turn of events. The character, as they say, hit the mark and ended up at the right time in the right place, catching the eyes of a bored youth audience at home. And if you still do not know who it is - ask, maybe Sam will penetrate into your heart.

At the same time, it is worth noting that, most likely, if Samsung did use the character for marketing purposes (given the character’s popularity, the company may still somehow return to it in the future) and users would see Samantha in advertising or in the brand’s app , then no "bombshell" effect would have happened, this one would have been just another virtual character, cute, but quickly forgotten. The fact that Sam did not participate in any commercial activity, but it looks like it is clear what huge funds have been invested in its creation, was one of the reasons for what happened.
