Samsung Electronics is already actively working on the second generation of the Galaxy Fold foldable smartphone.
The possible emergence of a second Fold reaction, despite the fact that the first version is still not available to consumers, was reported by some Korean media. According to them, the novelty will have a folding screen with a diagonal of 8 inches, as well as an S Pen stylus. It is claimed that the same folding technology will be used as in the first edition of the smartphone. No other technical characteristics have yet been named, and they still cannot be known.
According to media reports, Samsung has already reached out to an S Pen manufacturing partner to order parts for a new version of the stylus that will fit inside the second Fold. The production of the second generation device itself is expected to begin around August, while its presentation should be expected no earlier than December. The commercial launch will take place approximately in the first quarter of 2020.
Original Galaxy Fold, which has a 7.3-inch display, was supposed to go on sale in April this year. However, due to problems with screen folding technology, its launch was delayed indefinitely. Samsung has repeatedly stated that it is about to announce a new date for the sale of the original Galaxy Fold, but so far this date has not been announced. However, the manufacturer claims that the causes of the problem have already been clarified and will be eliminated in the foreseeable future. It is hoped that the device will be on sale in the very near future.
