The Chinese company Segway-Ninebot has added an electric scooter and an electric moped made in the classic Vespa style to its list of products.
We can say that the history of electric personal transport began with the American company Segway, which several years ago went to the Chinese manufacturer Ninebot. The resulting company Segway-Ninebot has extensive experience in the production of gyroboards, unicycles and electric scooters with bicycles, being one of the largest suppliers of personal vehicles.
But this time it was decided to try their hand at the production of another type of electric transport, designed for use at medium and long distances. Officially, new items should be presented at CES 2020 in Las Vegas. However, the manufacturer has already decided to show new models and provide general information about them.
Ninebot eScooter will be sold in five different versions, differing in battery capacity and maximum speed. The younger version will be able to accelerate to 50 km / h, overcoming on a single charge up to 90 km. As for the older one, it will be possible to accelerate to 100 km on it, with a travel range of up to 200 km (two batteries are installed at once for this). In this case, the acceleration time to 40 km / h will take 3 seconds.
Regardless of speed and capacity, all these models are equipped with a helmet-capable rack, digital display, bright LED headlights and reliable moisture protection. According to the manufacturer, buyers will be able to choose from 100,000 different body color combinations with seat cushions.
The second model was called Ninebot eMoped, this solution is simpler. There will be 3 versions, all with a top speed of 25 km/h. The travel distance will be 40, 60 and 75 km. In the event of a low battery, the user can use the pedals.
Pretty interesting solutions. It remains only to wait for their appearance on sale and see how they will be perceived by the market. Segway-Ninebot will have to face very serious competition, so a lot depends on the success of the first models. But the company seems to be determined. So, earlier there was information about the concept of an Apex electric motorcycle, with a maximum speed of 200 km / h, capable of accelerating to 60 km / h in 3 seconds.
