The special, plant-based menu includes the exclusive Veggie Shack burger as well as a dairy-free chocolate shake and Frozen Custard dairy-free ice cream. The products are based on NotMilk milk.
Shake Shack has been developing a new plant-based menu for five years. Before launching in all restaurants, the dishes were tested at some of the chain's locations in New York City.
The company noted that the dishes are suitable for vegetarians and vegans alike. Veggie Shack includes a vegetable patty (mushrooms, yams, carrots, farro and quinoa) with plant-based cheese, onions, pickles and special sauce. The chocolate shake and frozen custard are a dairy-free alternative to the classic Shake Shack. All new dishes are now available at the chain's American restaurants.
