Company Fung Brands, a division of a Hong Kong company Li&Fung, will become the main owner of the fashion house Sonia Rykiel. The investment firm has acquired 80% of the company's shares, while 20% will remain in the ownership of the Rykiel family.
It is also agreed that Natalie Rykiel, daughter of Sonia Rykiel, will continue to serve as Vice President of the Board of Directors. The fashion house was founded in 1968, since then the name of Sonia Rykiel has become famous in the fashion world. The search for an investor for the company has been going on for a long time, although the fashion house is profitable, but at the moment its resources are not enough for further development.
It is assumed that the new owner will help strengthen the brand in the international market, its global fame. The amount of the transaction has not been officially disclosed, both parties remain silent on this matter.
