International fashion search platform Lyst has released a quarterly list of the most popular brands and products in the fashion world.
The Lyst Index for the second quarter of 2019 was led by Gucci, with revenue growth for 20%, as well as the release of a new cruise collection and the creation of virtual sneaker fitting technology.
To compile the list of the most popular brands, Lyst studied the behavior of more than 5 million shoppers who search for fashion products in 12,000 designer boutiques and online stores around the world.
The top three fashion brands included Virgil Abloh's Off-White and Balenciaga, the fastest growing couture fashion brand. The top five is closed by fashion houses Valentino and Prada, which managed to increase annual sales for the first time in the last five years.
The top 10 according to The Lyst Index also includes Versace, Fendi and Stone Island. The best among sports brands was Nike, located on the 9th line and ahead of Yves Saint Laurent. Adidas took 16th place in the ranking, noting the increase in shares by almost 50% and the relaunch of the Ivy Park brand with Beyoncé. Rounding out the top 20 was fashion house Balmain, which presented its first collection of sneakers with a temporary London store to personalize shoes.
Beyoncé and Rihanna have been named the most influential figures in the fashion world. Searches for Beyoncé and Adidas jumped to 2700%, while Ivy Park climbed 140 places in the Index. Rihanna has become LVMH's first black female fashion designer and has officially announced the opening of a new luxury fashion house, Fenty. The trendiest items of the quarter were Off-White's women's Jitney 1.4 Cash Inside bag and Kanye West's men's Yeezy Boost 350 V2 static reflective.
