Through a specially launched platform, customers will be able to purchase the brand's refurbished clothing and equipment at discounted prices.
The American active lifestyle brand has announced that it intends to transform its approach to doing business and create a cyclical business model. Such models are based on environmental concerns and involve reducing the amount of goods thrown into landfills by introducing a variety of ways to reuse them.
For The North Face The first step towards a fully circular business model was the launch of a resale platform called The North Face Renewed. Thanks to the new service, the brand's clothes will be "rescued from landfills" in maximum volumes. It will be repaired, restored and resold, and items unsuitable for resale will be sent for complete processing.
Buyers who get access to recycled items will not only be able to support the environmental initiative, but also profitably buy fairly expensive clothes and equipment at a reduced price.
The North Face Renewed will start as a pilot project in Germany on May 4th. If the experiment is successful, the geography of the platform will subsequently be expanded.
In addition, in commemoration of Earth Day on April 22, The North Face has also committed to ensuring that by 2025, 100 percent of its most used clothing materials are recyclable and renewable.
