Toyota is considering ending sales of the legendary Land Cruiser in 2020. So far only in the US.

It's no secret that the newest generation of Land Cruiser, introduced in 2016, is, in fact, a slight revision of the 2007 model. That is, in the eyes of many consumers, the famous SUV looks simply outdated, both externally and in terms of technical characteristics.
It's a great car, but it's already starting to lose ground, and the cost of almost $ 90,000 already seems frankly overpriced, especially for a brand that is not considered premium (especially against the backdrop of the not much more expensive Lexus LX 570 SUV). And the "gluttony" of the Land Cruiser no longer meets modern requirements. For these reasons, U.S. sales of the car have been so low that it is being considered to be discontinued in 2020. Head of North American division Toyota Jim Lentz said that the company will get rid of models that do not bring profit. And the Land Cruiser is one of them.
So far, there has been no official announcement of the end of sales. But there is a high probability that this will happen. It is also possible that the Land Cruiser will leave not only the American market, but also from all others, where sales of this model are not particularly impressive.
For comparison, the company sold 8,500 Land Cruiser 200s in Russia last year. In the US, this figure was only 3235, despite the fact that the country's car market is noticeably larger.
