The fifth generation of mobile communications (5G) is still at the implementation stage.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, well known for his predictions about Apple devices, claims that three new iPhones that will be introduced in 2020 will receive 5G support.
South Korea was the first country to start providing commercial 5G services. Switzerland and China followed. In this case, we are talking only about some cities, and not about universal coverage. That is, even if your device supports 5G, there are still not so many places in the world where you can take advantage of this advantage.
However, the number of smartphones with 5G support is constantly increasing. So far, this option is available only on the most expensive solutions, like Galaxy Fold. As it usually happens, in the early stages of implementation, technologies are very expensive.
However, the recent purchase of the mobile business from Intel will allow Apple to significantly reduce the cost of production. The company has more resources to develop iPhone 5G. At the same time, if earlier the analyst promised that only top iPhone models would be equipped with support for fifth-generation networks, now he claims that all three models will receive it. I.e Apple will become the first company to provide new technology to the entire lineup. And we are talking about supporting both existing standards.
It is also expected that low-cost Android smartphones will also begin to receive 5G support in the near future. In other words, by 2020, consumers will begin to believe that 5G support is the norm. By that time, there will be many more cities in the world where it will be possible to "feel" this technology. So the appearance of it in the iPhone 2020 looks more than a logical step.
