New iPhones, iPad Pros, Macs and software – Apple will continue to update its product lines in 2020.
2020 has just begun and Apple has already pleased its fans by presenting an updated version of its most productive solution - Mac Pro, which is now available in a "rack" version (that is, designed to be installed in a rack, as is the case with servers). But what else can we expect from the manufacturer in the near future?
iPhone SE 2/iPhone 9
Perhaps this is the most anticipated device. Rumors have been circulating on the Web for a long time that the company intends to continue developing the SE line. It is expected that this will be a device with a small screen by modern standards, a diagonal of 4.7 inches and it will be based on the A13 processor. It will cost about $399 for a 64 GB model.
It is highly likely that in order to reduce the cost, the company will not equip the novelty with the Face ID facial recognition system, but will retain the Home button. That is, it will be an excellent solution for those who do not like all modern trends and who do not want to have a device with a large screen.
And although Apple has not shown that it is working in this direction, few doubt that the iPhone SE 2 will eventually be presented. However, it is highly likely that it will receive a different name. For example, the iPhone 9, because the company missed the number "9" when numbering its devices.
iPad Pro
The most serious iPad Pro update happened at the end of 2018, after which the company focused mainly on the development of iPadOS. In the same year, the company can also deal with the hardware component of the device. Most likely, the design will be retained, but the device will receive a new processor and a triple camera system, like the latest iPhones. It is also suggested that the updated device will receive a screen built using mini-LED technology. The presentation of new items should be expected closer to the fall, when Apple traditionally introduces new iPad models.
MacBook Air and MacBook Pro
Here we are not waiting for any significant improvements. According to well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, during 2020 the company will completely replace the unsuccessful Butterfly keyboards with the new Magic Keyboard, which so far only the latest can boast of. 16" models. The probability of the appearance of models with mini-LED screens is still unlikely. But the company may well present us with solutions with an updated "stuffing" - improved processors, expanded memory, etc.
iMac and Mac mini
There are suggestions that this year Apple may update the iMac computers not only technically, but also externally. After all, the design currently used appeared back in 2012, it is beautiful, but it has definitely managed to become boring. It is also possible that the iMac Pro model will receive a significant hardware upgrade.
As for the Mac mini, which was last updated back in 2018, then most likely there will be nothing. This is clearly not the most popular Mac and the company has always been reluctant to improve it. Opinions have even been repeatedly expressed that Apple is generally thinking about abandoning work in this direction.
Apple Watch
There was information that in April we will be presented with a red version of the watch - PRODUCT (RED) Apple Watch Series 5. This will be the first Watch of the PRODUCT (RED) series. But little is known about the next generation Apple Watch, but it is assumed that they will have higher performance and improved water resistance. Apple will also strive to make the watch as independent of the iPhone as possible.
iPhone 12
There are a lot of rumors here, such as the company plans to abandon the protrusion at the top of the screen, equip all models of its smartphones with OLED screens and support for 5G. There is a very high probability of a radical change in design and a return to the angular forms of the iPhone 4. The new products will be based on the A14 processor, built on a 5-nm process technology.
AirTag
The rumors that Apple will introduce an AirTag search tracker, similar to the popular Tile products, have been going on for quite some time. Such a tracker can be attached, for example, to a backpack, then tracking its location and receiving notifications of movements. The company was expected to introduce such a device back in 2019, but this never happened. It is possible that this will happen in 2020.
