The device was presented at the international exhibition Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Xiaomi presented a new model of wireless AR glasses. The new device, Discovery Edition, becomes part of a global line along with Microsoft's HoloLens and Google Glass, combining the physical and virtual worlds.

Xiaomi said its new wireless AR glasses, equipped with a retina-level display, provide a "truly immersive visual experience," Xiaomi's AR Gesture Control system allows for "easy control of virtual and real space."
The glasses can switch between fully enclosed "Immersed Mode" in virtual space and a special mode for vivid augmented reality experiences. The device can also automatically connect to your smartphone via NFC with a single tap.

The glasses were presented at the Mobile World Congress exhibition that started the day before in Barcelona. The Discovery Edition is currently a prototype. The company promises to reduce the weight of glasses by the time of mass production to 126 grams (4.4 ounces).
