The Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Volgograd Region brought the chain of jewelry stores Sunlight to administrative responsibility for unfair advertising.
The Sunlight network (LLC "Solnechny svet") has already sadly become famous as a distributor of advertisingbuilt on reports of store closures and market exits, offering customers discounts of up to 80%. And although the company was repeatedly accused of sending spam and outright deceiving customers, the case usually ended only with warnings from regulators.
This time the network was fined 400 thousand rubles. The consideration of the case began after a complaint from a local resident, who noted that despite the announcement of the closure, the Sunlight store continued to work after the specified period.
Sunlight representatives insisted that the company's website does contain information about the closure of some stores, which means that there are no violations of advertising laws. However, OFAS considered that the network's actions were nothing more than misleading consumers through false advertising.

This event served as the basis for jokes on the part of Internet users, among whom there are many who have already encountered Sunlight mailing lists. Hopes are expressed that eventually the network will actually close (which, of course, will become known from SMS messages or email newsletters). At the same time, many consider the decision of the FAS to be too lenient.
Sunlight has been around since 2009. Since 2015, it has been one of the largest jewelry chains in the country. For the first time, advertising about store closures and sales appeared in 2016, since then it has been repeatedly used in many large cities of Russia. For its distribution, the company uses a variety of sources - from banners on the streets to SMS-mailings and announcements on social networks.
