The French company Zephalto sells unusual tours to the "edge of space," inviting its customers to dine at a record altitude and admire views of the Earth.
The first trips to the stratosphere in a specially designed capsule will take place in late 2024 - early 2025, but all tickets for the first flights are already sold out. The cost of travel in the Celeste capsule will be about $130,000. Only tickets for mid-2025 and beyond are currently available by reservation.
As part of the trip, the capsule will be able to provide a flight altitude of 15.5 miles for six passengers. With an ascent rate of 4 meters per second, the tablet will reach its maximum altitude in an hour and a half.
On board Celeste will serve gourmet food from a Michelin-starred chef and carefully selected wines from a renowned sommelier.
Zephalto's partner in the project is the French space agency CNES. The company has already completed three test flights and plans to bring its space tourism format to other countries.
