The Hershey Company is celebrating International Women's Day with a free giveaway of chocolate bars with an unusual packaging design.
Exclusive Hershey's Milk bars will feature the highlighted letters SHE in the middle of the name, forming the words "She" in English. According to the statement The Hershey Company, these bars, named Celebrate HerSHEy's, will be given free of charge to the first 1,000 visitors to each of Hershey's Chocolate World stores.
According to Suzanne Jones, vice president of the Hershey Experience, the gesture is meant to honor all the women in our lives and bring a smile to the thousands of guests at Hershey's Chocolate World, visiting which is an event in itself that can create memories of a lifetime.
But the matter will not be limited to the distribution of customized chocolate bars. The company also created an inspirational short film featuring women whose achievements have changed and inspired the world, including the likes of Gloria Steinem, Gilda Radner and Katherine Johnson. Also, all fans of the Hershey's brand can take part in the celebration of SHE by posting photos of their favorite women on social networks and using the hashtag #CelerateSHE. Some of the most interesting of these shots will then be shared on social media throughout March, Women's History Month.
It should be noted here that The Hershey Company is one of the few companies (there are only 7%) included in the Fortune 500, which are headed by women. Michelle Buck took over as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2017. Her career with Hershey began in 2005. Prior to that, she worked for Nabisco and Frito-Lay. Michelle Buck is also one of the most influential women in the United States, according to Fortune.
