The Samson Switchblade will be to general aviation what the iPhone was to telecommunications.
Samson Sky has unveiled a private electric aircraft concept that could lay claim to one of the most unusual projects in the booming eVTOL industry.
Switchblade is first and foremost a car that can turn into a miniature aircraft in just three minutes. Its wings and tail can be easily folded after flight, allowing the aircraft to be stored in a conventional car garage.
The Switchblade has a maximum flight speed of 320 km/h and a cruising speed of 260 km/h. At the same time, on the ground, the car moves at a maximum speed of about 200 km / h. In private jet mode, the parachute effect is simulated by reverse thrust.
In terms of comfort, Switchblade boasts a modern sound system, head-up display, climate control and security system. A regular driver's license is required to drive a car, and a private pilot's license is required to fly an airplane.
The new aircraft is currently being tested, and the first flights will take place in a few weeks. Previously, booking is already open on the site at a price of 170 thousand dollars.
“We live in a generation of disruptive innovation – it’s in almost every part of our lives. The Samson Switchblade will be to General Aviation what the iPhone was to telecommunications,” commented Samson Sky.
