The device is available exclusively at Best Buy retail chain for $60.
While consumers around the world are eagerly waiting for the release of new smartphones from Apple and Samsung, children's toy manufacturer Fisher-Price has ventured into creating a rotary phone for adults.
This is a new take on the classic $10 baby phone on wheels. Fisher-Price released a functional $60 version of it - unlike a child's toy, the new model is equipped with Bluetooth and can connect to iOS or Android devices to receive and make calls.
In support of the new product, the company released a 30-second commercial stating that “the past has finally arrived.” As functional features of the device, its “bulky design” and “intuitive interface” are called.
The phone itself is what Fisher-Price calls “smart enough not to have any apps.” The device is equipped with a speaker for talking and is able to operate on battery power for nine hours.
It is reported that the first batch of "nostalgic" rotary phones were sold out on pre-orders. The new device is part of the Fisher-Price Let's Be Kids campaign, which encourages adults to find joy in play.
