Japanese manufacturer Suzuki Motors will leave the US market soon. The fact is that the American division of the company (American Suzuki Motor Corporation, ASMC) went bankrupt.
For almost three decades in the US market, ASMC has not been able to compete with automakers from Japan and South Korea, whose products have been very successful. It is possible that Suzuki would eventually have been able to achieve its goals, but everything was ruined by the financial crisis of 2008, from which it was not possible to recover. So, for the current year, only 21,000 cars were sold.
However, it is reported that ASMC will not be liquidated. Instead, the division will undergo a restructuring procedure, after which it will focus entirely on the supply of motorcycles and ATVs.
