In an unusual Super Bowl commercial, the actor learns to enjoy life again. And the Jeep Gladiator helps him in this.
According to the plot of the video, meteorologist Phil Connors, played by the aged, but not lost his charisma Bill Murray, again finds himself in a situation from the famous film "Groundhog Day". But that doesn't bother him any more. Why, because now he has a new orange Jeep Gladiator. Instead of being burdened by the monotony of the endless routine of repetitive days, the hero enjoys the impressions that this all-terrain vehicle can give him with might and main. The groundhog itself takes an active part in adventures.
Not only was the ad based on the movie, the creators of the video went to great lengths to reproduce in detail a number of recognizable moments, such as the switching clock in a hotel room and the song “I Got You Babe” playing in the background. It is also important that the video was specially filmed and shown during the broadcast of Super Bowl LIV on February 2, that is, on Groundhog Day.
For obvious reasons, one of the hallmarks of ads shown during the Super Bowl is that they are always of an exceptionally high standard. But sometimes real masterpieces appear there, as they say for all time. Yes, famous promotional video "1984" from Apple is still recognized as one of the best in history. And Jeep's Groundhog Day is just as creative. I want to watch this ad again.
Meanwhile, the affairs of the company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, which owns the brand Jeep, are not going in the best way. So, last week, its shares sank noticeably in price amid negative expectations - in the near future, the automaker should provide a report for the last financial quarter and for the entire 2019 as a whole. At the same time, its sales are falling around the world, and the company has so far paid little attention to the creation of electric vehicles, which are in trend today. However, recently FCA entered into a joint venture with foxconn, whose task is precisely the creation of an electric car.
