Sideshow Collectibles has created a life-size replica of the iconic character.
The photo to the material contains not a screenshot from the television series "The Mandalorian", but a real-life figurine of the famous Baby (The Child or Baby Yoda), made in full size. Sideshow Collectibles, a studio that specializes in creating licensed and original collectible characters from global pop culture, has announced the opening of a pre-order for a replica of the iconic character.
The Baby is expected to go on sale in August-October 2020. Pre-order copy from Sideshow Collectibles is $350. The creators note that this will not be a soft toy or mini-figure, which will later be launched by the official Disney store. This is a real life-size collectible figure that exactly repeats the silhouette of the character and allows you to play or pose with him for a photo. This explains the high price of a copy.
Like other products under the Sideshow Collectible brand, Baby Yoda will outperform peers with a completely accurate performance in accordance with the original on-screen character. Every detail of the figurine looks perfect, from the huge eyes to the costume and fluff on the head. The kid will also receive a toy ball stolen from the Mandalorian ship.
The figurine is made of plastic, resin and fabric and is about 42 cm tall. Of course, the $350 is a high price compared to the standard $25 copy. But it's still a good deal, given that the original "Little Yoda" doll used in filming cost around $$5 million to make.
In the last episode of the series, there is a scene in which a stormtrooper, played by Adam Pally, puts the Kid in a bag and punches him several times. According to Pally, after the first take, he received a remark on the set: "I just want you to know: this doll costs 5 million. Of course, you have to hit it, but I want you to mean it."
