Italian luxury brand Versace has opened a flagship store at Yorkville Avenue in Toronto, Canada.
This is the second Versace store in Toronto and the third in Canada. The retail space is two-level, with an area of about 280 sq. m.; it sits between the newly opened flagship Brunello Cucinelli (the largest Cucinelli in North America) and the flagship Stone Island. Across the street are French luxury brand Christian Louboutin and Chinese luxury brand Sheng Tang Peony.
A feature of the new Versace store is its bold and unusual design, which is characterized by a combination of light and mirrors, the use of different materials for areas with different categories of goods. A special effect is created by the brass grille on the ceiling - its golden color dominates the space, contrasting with various metals and marble accents. Among the most notable features is a voluminous head of a jellyfish on the ceiling of one of the ground floor dressing rooms. The store was designed by renowned interior designer Gwenael Nicolas.
On the ground floor there are separate areas for men's and women's clothing, as well as separate areas for accessories and shoes. The shoe interior, with its blue accents, is reminiscent of a jewelry box. The second level of the store includes Versace children's clothing as well as the Versace Home line.
Versace's first Canadian boutique, covering an area of 260 sq. m., was opened in the summer of 2014 at the Yorkdale shopping center in Toronto. The brand's second Canadian store with an area of 174 sq. m. opened in December 2015 in Vancouver, at the foot of an office tower on the outskirts of the urban luxury zone Alberni Street.
