A Chicago-based hot dog maker has unveiled a "wonderfully weird way to enjoy the iconic sausage".
Chicago-based Oscar Mayer, a maker of meats and cold cuts, has released the first ever hot dog flavored ice cream.
The product, called "Cold Dog", is presented by the manufacturer as "a surprisingly strange way to enjoy the iconic sausage not only on the grill."
Ice pops with an unusual taste, Oscar Mayer created in partnership with Popbar, a company specializing in the production of premium frozen desserts. It is noted that “Cold Dog” boasts unusual refreshing and both smoky notes of the iconic sausage with mustard.
“After the overwhelming fan excitement for our beloved Cold Dog, it was a no-brainer to make this hot dog-inspired frozen pop a reality,” commented Ann Field of Oscar Mayer, noting that the company is delighted to offer fans "another surprisingly weird way to enjoy the iconic sausage while escaping the summer heat."
Cold sausage from Oscar Mayer is available at select Popbar locations in Long Beach, New York, Atlanta, and New Orleans for $2. Locations where you can try Cold Dog are listed on the official Oscar Mayer website.
