The capsule, which includes 7 pieces of clothing, was created in partnership with Pyrates Smart Fabrics.
Japanese sportswear and footwear brand Asics has announced the launch of the first eco-friendly yoga collection designed by "women for women". The 7-piece capsule was created in partnership with Pyrates Smart Fabrics, a fabric design company that owns a contemporary streetwear brand.
Collection yoga clothes from Asics includes a variety of fitness items, including wide leg pants, leggings, sports bras and hoodies, all made using natural fibers. The items included in the capsule are made with a focus on comfort in movement during yoga.
Created by Spanish designer Regina Polanco, owner and CEO of Pyrates, the collection uses biodegradable dyes derived from plants and minerals, as well as dyes from Indian madder root, Mediterranean gall oak and pomegranate. The dyeing process is non-toxic and requires less water, the company said. Cleaning and drying are produced from non-hazardous and renewable sources, which guarantees environmentally friendly production at every stage. The packaging for the new collection is also made from natural and recyclable fabrics to reduce our planetary impact.
“We are delighted to work closely with Asics. Our shared vision and values have played an integral role in the entire process. The collection itself was designed in harmony with nature to provide women with not only fitness apparel, but also things that take care of the body, the inner world and the environment,” commented Regina Polanco.
The collaboration with one of the leaders in the sportswear and footwear industry was made possible after Pyrates received support from the Asics Tenkan-Ten international initiative to support start-ups in the field of sports, health and wellness.
