Slogan: Le Bas Dimanche vendu à l´unité
A French underwear brand that has existed since the middle of the last century. For a long time, only products for women were produced. But since 1986, men's collections have also been produced.
A small knitwear company founded by Bernard Giberstein in 1953 in Troyes, France. The company was originally called Dimanche (Sunday), thus the creator wanted to emphasize that his products are refined and not for every day (Bas Dimanche - weekend stockings). Later, in 1965, at the insistence of an advertising agency Publicis, the name has been changed to Dim or DIM. Thus, it became not only shorter, but also more sonorous ("dim" translates as "The sun"). By that time, the company already owned 25 percent of the market in France.
Development of the company Dim is a series of bold experiments with materials, the emergence of new lines of underwear and successful advertising campaigns. Some commercials were filmed by a young and then unknown director Luc Besson. Now it is one of the most famous brands in the world of lingerie, quite popular in Russia and Ukraine. Since 2005, the company has been a subsidiary of the investment fund Sun Capital Partners and known as Dim Branded Apparel.
Dim Branded Apparel is headquartered in Paris, France (Paris, France).
