The adidas Forum Tech design balances nostalgia with modern technology.
Adidas is preparing to release a special version of the Xbox-style sneaker in collaboration with tech giant Microsoft. The parties announced the start of cooperation to develop a joint sneaker model back in the fall of 2021.
"The collaboration will feature exclusive new adidas shoes with translucent green details inspired by the original Xbox's 2001 launch special edition of Halo: Combat Evolved, marking the first generation of games from Microsoft," the press release said.
The new couple, the first photos of which were published online, will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the release of the first version of the Xbox, November 15, 2001. The sneakers will be part of the Forum Tech line, which is released by Adidas.
The model is made in green and black colors and has a recognizable Xbox logo on the tongue. It is known that the sneakers, called the Xbox 20th Forum Tech, will be released in a limited edition.
“The adidas Forum Tech design balances nostalgia with modern technology and symbolizes how we look at our own Xbox history – celebrating the past 20 years and looking forward to a limitless future of gaming,” Xbox says.
Most likely, fans of the game console will not be able to purchase a novelty in Adidas retail channels. It is expected that all pairs created as part of the collaboration will be raffled among Xbox fans, although this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
However, in the near future, Adidas is preparing to release several more retro models that will be associated with past generations of Xbox. They will be sold both in the retail network and in the online store. It is known that the first three pairs from the new line will go on sale before the end of 2021 and several more models will appear in the first quarter of 2022.
