The original Nuven sneakers are designed to show that you can create very interesting shoes from recycled materials.
Manufacturers of sports shoes are increasingly paying attention to the environmental friendliness of their shoes. As a result, there are a variety of models of sneakers, for the manufacture of which are used recycled materials, and sometimes even such unusual materials as mushrooms. The only problem is that most of these shoes are boring white. However, Nuven sneakers were created in order to remedy this situation.
By creating original shoes, the co-founders of the startup Undo for Tomorrow, Patrick Domann and Pedro Mello, hoped to change the way people view “garbage”. With their sleek Nuven sneakers, they wanted to prove that recycled materials are just as good as new. And sometimes even better.
The result was an original shoe, one of the main features of which was a unique sole made from recycled party balloons. Every year, tons of used balloons are thrown away around the world, which has an extremely negative impact on the environment. The introduction of Nuven sneakers means that these disposables can be reused in a whole new way. Also, in the manufacture of soles, the remnants of old car tires are used.
The upper is made from suede, recycled plastic and natural rubber. The result is a very light and very flexible shoe that provides a high level of comfort. In total, 4 colors are available so far, including white, where without it. The choice may not be the widest, but still more than even such large manufacturers of eco-friendly models as Adidas. Do not forget about the bright multi-colored sole, the pattern of which is unique for each individual sneaker.
Nuven was promoted by creative funding platform Indiegogo. That is, just come to the store and buy these sneakers will not work. But by paying $88, you can become the owner of a pair from the first limited edition. An additional discount is offered for each additional pair. Purchase will be available in August.
