At the end of December 2010, the number of applications in the store was 325,000. At the same time, at least 25.5 thousand new applications appeared in it every month. None of the competitors can boast of even close indicators (the closest Google with his Android Market - 200 thousand applications). And this is just the beginning.
Analysts Citibank expect that next year the daily influx of applications will increase even more, and by the end of the summer the number of applications will exceed the psychological mark of 500,000 applications. Of course, this will only happen in an ideal scenario. Most likely, most of the applications will be rejected Apple. But still, growth rates are excellent.
However, as far as profitability is concerned, App Store it is not too high - just over one percent of the company's revenues. But the store was not created with the aim of making high profits. By the way, next year, according to Citybank, it should be expected that App Store will bring its creators about two billion dollars.
