On the very eve of the New Year holidays, it became known that Sony filed a lawsuit against LG Electronics, accusing the Koreans that their phones violate several patents at once. We are talking about models that are available in the US market.
The patent infringement complaint was filed with the American International Trade Commission (ITC) in Washington, and the lawsuit was filed with the Los Angeles Federal Court. Sony is trying to ensure that LG Quantum, LG Encore, LG Neon, LG Rumor Touch, LG Accolade and some others are withdrawn from sale. At the same time, some other popular models are out of the question (for example, the LG Optimus One smartphone was not included in the “black list”, apparently it was built using other technologies).

We are talking about some technologies related to microphones, caller ID systems, as well as those related to signal strength. There are eight patents in total. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the company Sony Ericsson Mobile Communication.
Concerning LG Electronics, the company refrained from any comments, saying that it does not want to discuss detailed issues.
