The design of the unusual building, which will now adorn the Adidas World of Sports campus in Herzogenaurach, was carried out by the architectural agency Behnisch Architekten.

The architecture of the arena is functional and expressive, its shape underlines the passion for sport that it expresses. Adidas. The total area of the building is 52,000 sq. m., it provides almost 2,000 employees of the company with a modern and comfortable working space, built with environmental principles in mind.
The architectural idea behind it is based on a delicately balanced interplay between transparency, landscape and modern approaches to work, with a lot of attention paid to communication and interaction in professional fields. The result is a three-story building that seems to float above the surrounding space.
Once inside, the visitor finds himself in a spacious atrium dominated by a staircase linking all three floors, both vertically and horizontally. Despite its impressive size, it seems to “float” in space. This is the "central street" of the building.
The room inside is divided into six different zones, built using a variety of materials and having different decorations, depending on the purpose. On all three floors, working areas alternate with areas for official and informal meetings, as well as recreation areas. They are organized in such a way as to provide as much natural light as possible. Well, since the facade is equipped with a specially designed sun protection system, only as much light is allowed inside as required - the sunlight will illuminate well, but it will not heat the room.
When creating the building, materials such as concrete, glass and metal were actively used. For achievements in the field of building design, the arena was awarded the Engineering Prize at the beginning of 2019. Through the implementation of modern energy efficiency standards and the extensive use of recyclable materials, the building has been certified LEED Gold.
The arena is an integral part of the newly expanded World of Sports campus. The development of landscape design was entrusted to the agency LOLA from the Netherlands.
