The focus of the new collection is the combination of functional clothing with fashion street style.
Swedish fashion giant H&M teamed up with Sydney-based sportswear brand PE Nation for the first collaboration in the emerging athleisure (athletic + leisure) style.
The PE Nation x H&M collection, created as part of the collaboration, includes models made in a successful mix of styles for sports and everyday wear using eco-friendly materials. The debut collection features apparel, swimwear and lingerie for women, designed in collaboration with H&M's in-house design team. It is expected that sales of the line will begin in the global network and online store of the Swedish retailer from March 5, 2020.
“By collaborating with H&M, we want women around the world to live more confidently, dynamically and fashionably. Items from this collection can be worn all day and every day, while maintaining the ability to be free, functional and stylish. All items fit together perfectly and are very easy to mix together,” commented Pip Edwards and Claire Tregoning, co-founders of the PE Nation brand.
The focus of the new collection is the combination of functional clothing with street style fashion, made from sustainable materials such as organic cotton and recycled polyester. Leggings and cycling shorts are combined with t-shirts and skirts, as well as fanny packs and accessories. The color palette ranges from black white and sand to mint green, neon pink and hot orange, giving the collection a recognizable PE Nation retro vibe.
This is not the first such project for PE Nation. In early 2019, the company teamed up with a New York-based lifestyle brand to create an exclusive collection, resulting in the first athleisure style set made from more sustainable materials. Later, the collaboration was expanded with the launch of a denim line.
H&M also commented on the new collaboration with the Australian brand, noting that the new collection is "perfect for the gym, but can also be worn to the disco or the office." It is known that retail prices for the PE Nation x H&M collection will range from 9.99 euros for a simple T-shirt to 49.99 euros for a pleated skirt.
