The chain of fashion stores is seeing growth in sales and intends to consolidate the results by opening 18 new outlets.
November and December 2019 sales Primark grew by an impressive 4% compared to last year. Having successfully completed the holiday season, the company can take stock. One of the main factors of this rise against the backdrop of a decrease in sales growth for most retailers is the active opening of more and more new outlets. At the same time, the brand pays noticeably less attention to the active presence online and other methods of promotion.
The retailer plans to continue this proven strategy and open 18 more stores. What will ultimately mean adding more than 80,000 sq.m. retail space in fiscal 2020 only.
Moreover, the company will not be limited only to the UK, it is planned to open stores in various countries. The locations of the first ten stores are already known, the locations of the remaining eight are still being determined, including negotiations on the lease of premises. In addition to the UK, Primark retail spaces, whose exact location has already been confirmed, will also open in Belgium, the US, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and Germany.
In 2020, Primark will enter the Polish market - a store will open in Warsaw in the spring, and later in Poznan. The company then plans to open a store in the Czech Republic, most likely in Prague. It is noted that the first store of the brand will be opened in Slovakia, in Bratislava. Thus, Slovakia will be the 15th country that Primark will add to its map of open stores.
