The device will be available in IKEA stores from April 2023.
IKEA announced the creation of a new product Vindstyrka - a smart sensor that determines the quality of indoor air. The device, which completes the line of smart solutions from the Swedish brand, allows you to measure and control the level of pollutants in the room, improving air quality.
The press release notes that today 90% of the world's people breathe polluted air. At the same time, the risk of air pollution in homes is generally underestimated by consumers.
With the release of the new device, IKEA expects to provide access to clean air by raising people's awareness of indoor pollutants.
"With Vindstyrka, our ambition has been to create an affordable high-performing air quality sensor to help our customers become more aware of the quality of the air they breathe in their homes," says Henrik Telander, Product owner at IKEA of Sweden.
The device is equipped with a display that also shows data about the pressure, humidity and temperature in the room. Vindstyrka can be connected to the Dirigera Hub, which makes indoor air quality levels available for reading in the IKEA Home smart app. The sensor can also be used in conjunction with the Starkvind smart air purifier, allowing you to automatically adjust the fan speed depending on the particle content in the air, and ensure maximum cleanliness.
