May 1945. Germany lies in ruins. The Allies have not even had time to celebrate their victory, and practical Germans are already starting to create new companies. One of these has become Labor Wfounded by young engineer Fritz Sennheiser. Its name was an abbreviation for "Laboratorium Wennebostel" - "Laboratory in Wennebostel" (Wennebostel is a small village in Germany, where the Hannover Research University, where Fritz worked, was evacuated during the war). Initially, the new company was engaged in measuring instruments. In 1946, the product range expands - microphones are added.
In 1957 the company changes its name. Now it is called by the name of the creator - Sennheiser. Since 1958, cooperation with another German manufacturer begins - Telefunken. Since 1991, cooperation with Georg Neumann GmbH, a manufacturer of studio microphones, has begun. Since 2005, to the group of companies Sennheiser joins Klein + Hummelmaking microphones.

Over the years of its existence, the company has repeatedly received many prestigious awards for its products, developments and achievements. Senheiser himself received prestigious awards, who, although he founded such a well-known company, never became a businessman, remaining an engineer to the marrow of his bones. He retired from business in 1982, passing the reins of government into the hands of his son. Senheiser passed away in May 2010 at the age of 99.
The company's head office is still located in Vennebostel. Factories are located in Germany, Ireland (in the town of Tullamore, where, in addition, excellent whiskey is produced) and Mexico.
