The company was founded in 1941 in Seoul, where its head office is located to this day. Then she was called Chosun Tire Company. For a long time, its products remained known only in Korea. Gradually, the development of production made it possible to enter the markets of other Asian countries as well. Success in this direction led to the fact that in 1968 it was decided to change the name to a more “universal” one. So there was Hankook Tire. Production volumes then grew very rapidly. So, in 1979, a plant was built in Daejeon, which at that time was the largest in the world.
In 1981, an American representative office appeared - Hankook Tire America Corporation. And Hankook entered the European market only in 2001, having opened a representative office in Rotterdam.
The first decade of the 21st century has passed for Hankook Tire under the auspices of active sponsorship of all kinds of sports.
