Slogan: Driven to perform
Apparently, the difficult economic situation at the very end of World War II in Japan led to the fact that in August 1945, two large companies that were engaged in rubber products decided to merge. These were Hirano Rubber Manufacturing Inc. (founded in 1943) and Toyo Rubber Industrial Co., Ltd. The result was the emergence of the company Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd.
From the very first days of its existence, the new company was engaged in the widest range of products, which included all kinds of rubber products. Including car tires. Toyo Tire & Rubber developed rapidly - the company's shares were listed on the stock exchange in Osaka four years later, in 1949. The following years were years of rapid development: new factories were built, shares were registered on other Japanese stock exchanges, including Tokyo. The first production facilities abroad begin to appear.
By the way, the word toyo literally translated as "Eastern Ocean". However, it is often used as a collective name for all of Asia as a whole.
